Biography of Peter Matthews

(b Peter Charles Matthews, 14 February 1955); South African artist, photographer and film director. At the age of 14 Peter knew he wanted to be an artist. He studied Graphic Design at the Durban Technikon in South Africa, and then worked as a Graphic Designer in various advertising agencies to becoming Executive Creative Director of his own advertising agency. Matthews and Charter O&M was recognized in the top three most creative agencies in South Africa. After 18 years as creative head of M&C, Peter sold his shares to Ogilvy to focus on his art and directing.
